A. How to add a new server to your server list: |
1: On the Tools menu, click "Options". 2: On the General tab, under Directory Settings, in Directory, type or click the new directory server name. 3. Under "CALL" ..click the "login to ILS server" 4. Under "CALL" ..click the "DIRECTORY" to actually SEE the list of people on that ills server. . |
| B. How to connect directly to someone from an IRC channel | |
1: Assuming you are running the mIRC irc chat program, type this in your
channel, or status window /dns nickname 2: Now look in you STATUS window on mIRC, and you will see something that looks like: *** Looking up dialup.3442.ctv.com Resolved dialup.3442.ctv.com to 212.25.135.203 <<< That is THEIR "IP" Number (most people this changes every time they dial the internet) 3: The "212.25.135.203" type number is what u are looking for. Take that IP number, and type/paste it into the Netmeeting box on top (address)... then push the call button! Of course the other person must have Netmeeting open. 4: An alternate way.... /dns yournickname, and msg YOUR IP number to them, and ask them to call you the same way. You can also "borrow" a person's IP number from their ICQ 'info' screen, if they are online but not on mIRC. |

| We have found, since all the ILS servers from Microsoft are no longer being used by Microsoft (they are turned off permanently, that "connecting direct" is a MUCH better way to use Netmeeting. | |
| We have also found, that using an IRC chat channel to talk to that person, before you connect to them on Netmeeting, is a much safer way of using Netmeeting, instead of just calling blind to a person you don't know, and having a "surprise" live video show up on your screen that you really did NOT need to see! | |
| We will be adding Netmeeting help topics here as we have get more requests for certain things. | |
| Undernet's #Netmeeting Channel HAS become THE place to meet other people and connect to them on the Netmeeting program! | |
